Young Rangers Support Worker & Leader - Hastings

Our client is a local charity who are dedicated to improving the lives of the adults and young people that they serve. They are currently looking for Support Workers and Project Leaders to assist with their Young Rangers program.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in a similar position, the ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written and be a strong team player. As a Support Worker and Project Leader you will be helping to plan fun and engaging activities as well as encouraging the young rangers to take part, build friendships and develop a love for nature in a safe and secure environment.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Demonstrable experience in a similar position
• Have experience of working with young people with learning difficulties and/or autism
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written with service users and other staff
• Be a strong team player
• Ability to be adaptable and to deal with any issues

Your duties as a Support Worker and Project Leader would be:

• Helping to plan fun and engaging activities such as cooking round the fire, den building, animal care, forest school activities and woodland craft
• Encouraging the young rangers to take part, build friendships and develop a love for nature in a safe and secure environment

Salary:

£10 - £11 per hour

Hours:

• Flexible Working – weekdays throughout the school holidays (prearranged) and the occasional Sundays
• Support Worker: 9.30am – 3.30pm & Project Leader: 9am – 4pm
