Consumables Buyer for Leading Engineering and Manufacturing Business
Are you an experienced Consumables Buyer with a keen eye for detail and a passion for optimising supply chain operations? ASL Technical is proud to partner with a preferred customer, a renowned specialist vehicle manufacturer, in their search for a Consumables Buyer to join their dynamic team.
This is a Fixed Term Contract for up to 18 months, engaged on our customer payroll and will have entitlement to all employee benefits including 25 days holiday, bonus, pension and other benefits.
Role Overview:
As the Consumables Buyer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's engineering and manufacturing business. Your expertise in SAP, Excel, and MRP systems will be essential as you manage all aspects of indirect, consumable, and maintenance suppliers. This pivotal role will require you to maintain optimal inventory levels, source high-quality materials, and negotiate favourable terms with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand material requirements and forecast needs.
- Utilise SAP, Excel, and MRP systems to track, analyse, and manage inventory levels.
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong supplier relationships.
- Implement efficient procurement strategies to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
- Monitor supplier performance, address any issues, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Consumables Buyer within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and MRP systems is essential.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
