Link Worker - Rye

Our client is local charity who support adults with learning disabilities or Autism into paid work. They are currently looking for a Link Worker to join their dedicated team in supporting work trainee.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable experience in a support role, the ability to use personal initiative within a structured framework, be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written and have an understanding and awareness of equal opportunities.  As a Link Worker you will be supporting work trainees to enable them to move towards paid employment and apprenticeships. Your support will enable to work trainees to learn the skills and systems needed to become a value employee.

Due to the location of this role, own transport and full UK driving licence is required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Demonstrable experience in a support role
  • Have a good level of education
  • Ability to use personal initiative within a structured framework
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written with service users, other staff, clients, employers and other professional
  • Be able to use standard office IT programmes
  • Have understanding and awareness of Equal Opportunities
  • Ability to work under pressure

Your duties as a Link Worker would be:

  • Maintaining accurate records as required for monitoring, quality, and audit purposes in accordance with charities policies
  • Managing own workload and prioritise effectively to meet agreed objectives
  • Creating workshops and training tailored to the work trainees
  • Identifying training needs for work trainees in relevant skill and knowledge areas
  • Working with and advise employer engagement team on work trainees that are ready for work
  • Liaising with parents, carers, and other external agencies where appropriate
  • Working in a team and delivering training to a high standard
  • Attending team meetings and training as required
  • Creating action plans and set SMART goals for work trainees and ensure they are supported towards their outcome
  • Supporting and advise new and less experienced supported employment staff
  • Supporting and help the farm team with work trainees learning
  • Awareness of safeguarding issues and policy, act and report concerns to appropriate staff and or external agencies
  • Encouraging peer to peer learning where appropriate
  • Ensuring compliance with processes and procedure
  • Through the use of training in systematic instruction, support work trainees in their placements as required
  • Delivering travel training to work trainees as required
  • Supporting work trainees in applying for placements and employment opportunities
  • Evaluating events, activities and contribute to the development of supported employment
  • Making recommendations for change or improvement of the service
  • Identifying work experience and paid work opportunities outside of the charity

Salary:

£11.20 per hour
