Our client is one of the largest and most diverse fencing contractors in the UK and in recent years have been involved in some of the most prestigious construction projects in Europe. They offer high-security fencing, acoustic barriers, and vehicle safety barriers as well as associated civil and ground works, coupled with the companies’ design, consultancy and engineering capability. They are currently recruiting for a Junior CAD Designer/Engineering Technician to join their hardworking and dedicated team.
The ideal candidate will have an engineering background, possess an engineering qualification as well as experience in 3D modelling and be proficient in the production of 2D AutoCAD drawings. You will be able to demonstrate strong numeracy skills and be a proficient user of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
As a Junior CAD Designer/Engineering Technician you will be producing high quality CAD designs/drawings for all of the companies’ departments within the Battle office, producing reasonable 3d models and renders for selected large projects as well as liaising with project managers and others to achieve the best designs and give added value to ensure that the company remains at the forefront of the industry.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:
- Demonstrable engineering background
- Possess an engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Diploma, B.Sc.)
- Experience in 3D modelling and renders using any/all of the Autodesk software (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Revit, Inventor or 3DS max)
- Proficient in the production of 2D AutoCAD drawings, utilising Paper Space, Model Space and Reference files
- Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must demonstrate strong numeracy skills and be proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to prioritise and be organised
- Be able to work as part of a team
Your duties as a Junior CAD Designer/Engineering Technician would be:
- Producing high quality CAD designs/drawings for all the companies’ departments within the Battle office in an efficient and neat fashion
- Producing reasonable 3d models and renders for selected large projects
- Liaising with project managers and others to achieve the best designs and give added value to ensure that the company remains at the forefront of the industry
- Responsible for ensuring the numbering and filing of all drawings and the PDF’s that are issued to the client, maintaining a directory structure within the companies network to help them with BIM compliant
- Completing basic structural calculations mentored and tutored by lead design engineer
- In addition, the role will be to continue to enhance the way that information is presented and issued to clients

£24,000 - £32,000 DOE
