Our client is a well-established engineering company based in St Leonards on Sea who specialise in making connectors, contacts, accessories, wires and subsea power cables for use in the harshest environments. A vacancy has arisen for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator - Turning to join their busy engineering team.

 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in CNC Turning, ability to perform fast set-ups and change overs, as well as possess an excellent attention to detail.

 

As a CNC Setter/Operator – Turning you will be setting and operating first and second operation machines. You will ensure that components are produced correct to specification and delivered on time. 

 

The Ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Demonstrable experience within a CNC Turning role
  • Ability to perform fast set-ups/change overs essential
  • Be able to understand and follow technical drawings
  • Possess an excellent attention to detail
  • Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing (4M’s; 5S’s etc)
  • Be quality conscience
  • Ability to work effectively and resolve issues within a team environment

 

Your duties as a CNC Setter/Operator - Turning would be:

  • Programme, set and operate CNC multi turret/spindle machines (Fanuc program control)
  • Inspecting your own work and recording the results to ensure the required quality is maintained
  • First off inspection
  • Complete accurately all necessary material movement paperwork (i.e. route cards, material traceability, program changes)
  • Perform any additional operations necessary (including deburring) that are required to produce finished components
  • Set and operate manual machines as necessary
  • Involvement in continuous improvement activities/Lean processes

 

Salary:

Highly Competitive Salary

 

Hours:

39 hours per week

Swing Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm

                     Friday, 6am – 1pm, 1pm- 8pm

 

Location:

St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex
