CNC Setter - Essex

Our client who has been established for over 30 years’, are the worlds largest independent manufacturer of contact and intraocular lens materials. They are currently looking for a CNC Setter/Operator to join their hardworking and dedicated team.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable experience in a CNC Setter/Operator position, have previously used Fanuc controls in a manufacturing environment, and hold a BTEC, HND or equivalent in a relevant subject. You will also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail.

As a CNC Setter/Operator you will be setting and operating lathes, ensuring machine tolerances are maintained and interpreting engineering drawings. You will follow good manufacturing practices and health and safety protocols.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Demonstrable experience in a CNC Setter/Operator position
• Experience of using Fanuc controls in a manufacturing environment
• Hold a BTEC, HND (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possess good problem-solving skills
• Be organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail
• Knowledge of using CAD/CAM packages would also be an advantage

Your duties as a CNC Setter/Operator would be:

• Setting and operating CNC Twin Spindle Lathes accurately to ensure repeatability
• Prove out new jobs
• Editing machine offsets
• Maintaining and monitoring machine tolerances
• Interpret engineering drawings
• Produce CAD documentation to meet specifications
• Meeting production delivery schedules and quality standards
• Operating Fanuc controls
• Quality inspection
• Following good manufacturing practice and health and safety protocols
• Any other task as directed by the Operations Manager

Salary and Reward Package:

• £39,000 - £44,000 depending on experience
• Inclusive of shift allowance and benefits

Hours:

Shift Working – 12 hours per day – 4 days on/4 days off shift pattern
