Case Handler (Conveyancing)

Our client has been providing expert legal services to the residential property market for over 20 years’. A vacancy has arisen for a Case Handler to join their hardworking and dedicated conveyancing department.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience of working within a conveyancing environment; possess knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office as well as good time management and organisational skills. You will also possess excellent communisation skills, and have the ability to work alone as well as in a team.

As a Case Handler you will be organising and managing on a day to day basis your own caseload which includes all aspects of the conveyancing transaction from instruction to completion, registration and closure of the file.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Relevant experience within a conveyancing environment
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Possess excellent communication skills

  • Be responsible, professional and trustworthy
  • Possess good time management and organisational skills
  • Good literacy and computer skills

  • Be accurate, timely and conscientious

Qualifications Required:

  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English at Grade C or above
  • A Levels or equivalent in Maths and English at Grade C or above

Your duties as a Case Handler would be:

  • Carrying out instructions and tasks set by the Conveyancer
  • Making telephone calls when requested
  • Drafting legal documents to include Standard Precedent Letters, Contract Packs, Exchange Letters, Freehold AP1s and Freeform Letters
  • Sending faxes
  • Post completion works to include Preparing and sending applications to the Land Registry, Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions, File closures and checking account ledgers

Salary and Rewards Package:

  • Salary: Depending on Experience
  • 20 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays (Please note additional holiday days accrued at 1 day for every year’s service in the annual leave year following completion of the 1 years’ service increasing annually thereafter by one day up to a maximum of 5 additional days. Holiday years runs from 1st January to 31st December)
  • Enrolment into Company Workplace Pension Scheme 3 months after joining

Hours:

  • Core working hours are 9am – 5.30pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch break
  • 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week

(The office is open Monday – Friday 8am – 7pm, Saturday 9.30am – 4.30pm and Sunday 10am – 3.30pm. The staff rota includes evening and Saturday working, which you will be notified of in advanced)
